Sorry!

So, I know you would love to see the stylings of these perpetual cuties

Sorry! Instead, you get to see me try twice more to wear that peach sweater and feel like I like it...

I don't know. What do you think? Keep... or donate?

Onto my blouses that somehow escaped being worn so far!

A Milli

Lil Wayne is emerging as one of my favorite artists. Cardio-speaking, at least. I look forward to "a milli" coming up on my playlist when I'm running. The same repetitiveness that drives my little sister crazy is comforting to my pace! And I listen more to what he's saying, rather than just enjoying a beat. I especially like that he abandons some of the stereotypes about black men. Love it, actually.

Remix Repose

I've been floating by pretty easily. And now maybe panicking with just 9 outfits left to reach thirty. I have 2 items I haven't even worn. I only wore my wonderful wrap dress once! But I have identified some things. I want new shoes for one. I make do, but omigod, some hot shoes would really make me smile. And my peachy cabled v-neck. I don't really like it. I got it without trying it on because of the color when I saw that they were only $9 at Target. But I'm forcing myself to try wearing it different ways before I give up on it an donate it.

Whew!

Traveling by yourself, with two small kids, during a style challenge. I won't pat myself on the back, but I won't stop you :) Unfortunately, being a mom does mean that I frequently sacrifice style for function. Not to imply that those are mutually exclusive, but it can be work and sometimes I just don't have the energy to care. I've challenged myself before to pack as light as possible, but this was a little more difficult because I was already restricted to my 30 for 30 items. I really had to think about what I wanted to wear at the airport, since I would be wearing Bauer and would likely have to nurse him on the plane. Not to mention how hot I get trying to get through security without losing anything (luggage-wise or children). I can't even pretend that I won't break a sweat keeping Emberly out of other people's way while I hoist the stroller onto the scan belt, with Bauer strapped to me.
But I did succeed and managed to look pretty decent doing so.

Monochrome Madness

Date night seemed like a good time to go all black. Post babies, I'm not too keen on an exposed midriff, but through lace seemed like a little age appropriate mystery, maybe even sexy ;)

It DOES Matter

I must say, putting some effort into getting dressed every day does improve my mood!Photobucket

First Five

My first five days remixing for the 30 for 30 are complete! The first four days, my photos are totally unflattering, and it's more that my lazy ponytails:

I don't know if it was my sister's photo taking skills LOL or just bad angles, but it's not an accurate representation of what I was seeing when I looked in the mirror!

And since my sister is gone, I will do self portraits in the mirror! Only problem being that you can't see my shoes. Then I shall also have to look down!

Beast Mode

So we've gone over part one of my plan to avoid depression: doing the 30 for 30 and forcing myself to at least attempt some cuteness every day. The other part: insane exercise. I'm going to do the 6 tunnels half again. I decided that last week, so I only have 6wks to get my longest run from 4mi to 13mi. I ran 6mi Friday, then 8mi on Monday. It felt good! I expected to be so sore after the hilly 8 miler, but I wasn't at all. I guess I'm going to come across a lot of pleasant surprises doing this not pregnant versus my experience (which I thought was good) training last year.
I've pumped up my running playlist and I'm not as nervous running outdoors anymore. I'm not, as they say, "f*cking around" anymore. Time to ditch this last 10lbs.

Remixing Time

One way I'm going to focus on feeling my best is to take Kendi's remix challenge. If you look kinda cute, you're bound to feel kinda cute, right? I'd love to do it for Emberly again, but aside from a few things she got from Christmas, she really doesn't have anything else to remix! So, me it is. I'll admit that some days I don't make it out of my pajamas until after lunch. And I frequently put on the same thing I was wearing the day before. I work from home and have little kids, you know you would too. And if you wouldn't, well, excuse me, ms/mr perfect LOL
