My hard drive went to hard drive heaven. It installed some updates and then refused to boot.
Good news, I didn't have to buy a whole new machine. Bad news, I had to wait what felt obscenely long this day and age for my operating system disk to get going with my new hard drive.
Anyway, I'm back.
With a brand-new outfit post. From three weeks ago, on our villa patio in Costa Rica. I try.

And thank you so much for bearing through my hiatus and continuing to read! xo
Monarch butterflies have been migrating through the Las Vegas valley. You can't pass a flowered shrub without 5-6 butterflies fluttering out of it. I experienced it before in Sacramento, but it really struck me as odd that they'd migrate through the desert!
Damon and I went to see Dredd opening weekend. Knowing basically nothing about the graphic series and barely remembering the Stallone version, I still thoroughly enjoyed this action packed gore fest. BUT, I never figured out who played Sandra Bullock's character in this version.
And for the record, that's because she was in Demolition Man, the Stallone flick that came out two years before the Judge Dredd movie. I hope I'm at least cute when I'm clueless!
So as I've subtly chronically complained about on here for a few weeks now, I've been training for a half marathon. And now I completed my 3rd half marathon and attained my personal best time by over 10 minutes on a more difficult course! There was limited parking after the race and so I didn't bother with having Damon take a picture of me sweaty and worn out so you get to see me holding my bib and wearing my medal all freshened up the next day :D
And for once, I'm actually looking forward to running more!
Emberly got of the bus in tears on Wednesday. Because her teacher handed out wristbands to those who had pre-purchased fall festival tickets and she did not get any.
I didn't really want to go the fall festival. I don't know why. Because it's hot and I've been running a lot and... blegh, I just want to spend my Friday evening on the sofa. With chocolate. And wine.
But, I resisted my party-pooper urges and made a deal with her. If she got "excellent" on her behavior chart for the rest of the week, we would go.
And she did, so we did.
It was fun! Especially seeing how excited she was to run into friends from school.
